Greg Bentley, the owner of North Shore Remodeling, was raised and educated in Michigan. Having a natural ability for working with his hands, he received a Detroit Industrial Arts Award for his furniture making and design while still in high school. Greg honed his skills in the building trades while studying at Western Michigan University where he was also a member of the Reserve Officers Training Corp.

Greg graduated in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Supervision and Management and was appointed Second Lieutenant in the US Army Reserve. Upon graduation, Greg immediately established his own home remodeling business in Northern Michigan and, at the same time, fulfilled his obligation to the US Army reserve as a helicopter pilot.

Over the years, his career has been split between California and Michigan, working as licensed builder in both states. In California, Greg remodeled homes in San Francisco and the Sierra foothills. In Northern Michigan, Greg soon began constructing high-end residential homes that incorporated many green building technologies such as structural insulated panels and pre-cast concrete foundations.

In the fall of 2005 Greg received a job offer as a commercial helicopter pilot on the Island of Kauai. After having flown hundred of hours over Island, he could not help but fall in love with its beauty and the relaxed atmosphere. He began considering the possibility of applying his skills in the remodeling trade on the Island. North Shore Remodeling was established in winter of 2006 and has seen steady growth.
